On Monday the residents took part in Dyngus Day festivities whether they were Polish or not. They ate sausage and pierogi's, then enjoyed music by Ramundo. He played easter music, polkas and gave us the history of Dyngus day. Everyone also got in the spirit of the water sprinkling and pussywillows. It was a fun way to end the Easter Holiday.
On Saturday we had our Easter Social. Everyone enjoyed spending time with their families and friends. The weather was so beautiful, it was a good day for a visit from the Easter bunny. The easter bunny took lots of pictures and brought candy filled eggs. There was also an easter game, prizes and cupcakes to enjoy. Preparing for Easter is half of the fun, and on Friday the residents were busy coloring Easter Eggs, filling baskets and eggs with candy for the kids. They did a good job. On Wednesday we took a trip out for breakfast at one of our favorite places The Four Corners. We had blueberry stuffed waffles and cinnamon swirl pancakes that were among our favorites choices.
Today we had a visit from the baby animals of Sundance Farm. There were ducks, goats, bunnies, hens and a lamb. We created new memories and brought back old memories for some of the residents that grew up on a farm. It was great to hold all the animals. They are so precious.
Today we took a trip to the Broadway Market in staying with holiday tradition. Who could resist the sights and smells of the market. Between the chocolate, ham, sausage, butter lambs, baked goods, and easter flowers it was a difficult decision on what to buy. Needless to say, no one left empty handed.
